Position: Project Engineer - Marine Engineer / Naval Architect

Albion Marine Solutions provides project management, engineering, consultancy, and conversion services to maritime and offshore industries worldwide. The Project Engineer help to plan and execute the projects in accordance with the criteria by which project success is measured. The Project Engineer will be responsible for establishing project plans, coordinating the review of project designs, and ensuring the proper implementation of project elements.

 

  • The Project Engineer will report to the Project Manager.
  • The position will require extensive travel within Canada, USA, Asia, and Europe.
  • Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
  • Requirements:
  • Degree in Marine engineering, Marine Electrical and Automation or Naval Architecture
  • 3+ years’ related field and project planning experience
  •  Excellent project management skills
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills
  •  Enterprise-level computer platform experience, including MS Office and MS Project  
  •        Familiar with piping standards, design, and conversions
  •            Familiar with structural standards, design, and conversion
  •        Familiar with electrical and automation standards, design, and conversions
  •  Familiar with governing standards and Class Rules
  • Technical specification writing skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of large team
  • Proficient in design software, such as

     o   Autodesk AutoCAD

     o   3D scan application

 

Major Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  •  Treat safety as a top priority
  •  Carry out the Ship Site Survey and an Inspections
  •  Prepare the Survey and Inspection Reports in accordance with applicable requirements
  •  Review vessel’s drawings and machinery specification on subject of   legislation compliance
  •  Carry out the conversion and retrofit designs and prepare plans and drawings
  •  Prepare project plans and work specification for each individual vessel
  •  Prepare submission to Class for approval of vessels' specific modifications
  •  Write dry docking and conversion specifications
  •  Arrange updates of vessels’ drawings on completion of modifications
  •  File and keep track of all project documentation, related to each vessel and project overall
  •  Supervise installation of equipment during dry docking period as required
  •  Collaborate with the team members to create more efficient methods and maintain profitability
  •  Develop and monitor project metrics and manage the collection of project data
  •  Formulate project parameters, including design elements and implementation procedures
  •  Attend and execute project management, engineering, consultancy, and supervision duties
  •  Lead Site Teams, Riding Teams and Subcontractors to achieve the Company performance goals
  •  Assists in preparation and implementation of Project Execution Plan (PEP)
  •  Attends the Progress Meetings and assist in preparation of Minutes of Meetings.
  •  Monitor work in progress and prepare weekly report of the status of each assignment
  •  Ensure all procedures and calculations are submitted to the client for review and approval
  •  Coordinate materials and assists in the logistics, its shipment and receipt at construction site
  •  Coordinate with all projects related personnel (onshore and offshore) on day-today progress of work activities, procurement, and operations to ensure timely completion of the project
  • Promptly report to the Management any irregularities or concerns which may impact the project execution or compromise a compliance with Company Standards and Policies
