Position: Chief Technical Officer

Department: Management

Reports To: Director 

Responsibilities:

  • Head the engineering office in Chennai, lead the engineering managers and the entire engineering team.
  • Guide and manage man-hour estimates for each project, as and when requested from head office.
  • Submit bid details and information required along with man-hour estimates.
  • Monitor and provide expert knowledge on concept, basic and detailed engineering of Marine and Naval
  • architectural projects. Provide expertise to confirm project feasibility and survey reports.
  • Determine all design philosophy and ensure consistency for same on projects and participate in various
  • events to maintain knowledge on latest technologies and investment.
  • Administer and ensure optimal utilization of all company resources, employees, software and hardware.
  • Monitor on a daily basis all projects to ensure submission of deliverables with best quality and within
  • scheduled time.
  • Follow up QC system on weekly basis to endure QC procedures are adhered to.
  • Follow man-hour performance of employees on each deliverable on weekly basis.
  • Coordinate with project managers and achieve project completion to the satisfaction of clients.
  • Lead the client meetings on a daily or weekly basis, as required by clients. Ensure that the meetings are
  • focused and dealt with in professional manner.
  • Be willing to travel to client's office or ship yards to manage client requirements as and when requested
  • by head office.
  • Manage the project department, comprising of project managers and project engineers and guide them
  • in managing their projects successfully.
  • Assist departments and coordinate various engineering practices to reduce cost and improve quality of
  • projects.
  • Manage the recruiting of engineering and project managers. Also guide the managers in recruiting their
  • subordinates. Negotiate salaries of employees at the time of recruitment and ensure best value in
  • recruited employees. Maintain paper work for all new employees as per company procedure.
  • Carry out instructions and activities as directed by the Managing Director of the company. This may be
  • standing instructions or adhoc instructions based on company's business requirements.
